Ten hikers went into a cave to meet their guide. Five of them thought ahead and brought extra batteries for their flashlights. The other five made no such plans. The guide did not arrive when they expected, so the ten waited for him in the dark cave.
A few hours later they received word that the guide was on his way. The wise hikers put new batteries in their flashlights. The others said to them, “Give us some of your batteries, for our lights are getting dim.” But the wise hikers answered, “We’ve used all our extras. You’ll have to go to the convenience store and buy some yourselves.”
So the foolish hikers left the darkness of the cave to make the purchase. And while they were away, the guide arrived. He led the five wise hikers deep into the cave to explore wonders they had never seen.
When the other hikers returned, they shouted into the darkness, “Come and lead us, too.” The guide stopped long enough to answer, his voice echoing through the hollow crevices, “Who are you? I don’t think we’ve met.”

That is what the second coming will be like. Be prepared, for no one knows the day or the hour.
