Day 45 – a look back, a look ahead
I've tried to show He [God] exists by appealing to the common facts of science, ethics, history, and philosophy. Taken together, they form a powerful case for God. –WILLIAM LANE CRAIG
It is now over six weeks since our journey began. Along the way we have looked at three arguments for the existence of God. As your guide, I have challenged you to gaze at the world around you and explain how certain things came to be. What is the best explanation for the universe's design? How can you account for the sense of fairness that resides in mankind? Why is there this tendency through the ages to acknowledge a supernatural world? The answer to each question has been the same: the existence of God is the best explanation.
We must now take broader and quicker steps. There are two more reasons to believe in God for us to consider. We will add these to the Argument from Design, the Argument from Fairness, and the Argument from Supernatural Belief and thus bring the first leg of our pilgrimage to a close. By then, the choice between theism and atheism should be easier for you. Hopefully, you will be persuaded by the weight of the evidence to get off the fence and to point the compass of your heart in the direction of God.
